“My Fishing started when I was approximately 5 years old with hand lines in small streams where the catch varied from bullheads to crawfish and add in a small trout or two. Hand lining of the pier in the ocean the catch was piling perch and a sea bass now and again. A couple of times a year my father and I would rent a boat and go out in Monterey bay and catch lingcod and other ocean-going creatures.”
Trout fishing began on summer camping trips to the Klamath River in northern California. When I was ten years old the family moved to Oregon and I began to spend a majority of my waking hours on the rivers, streams, and lakes around our home. I started fly fishing when I was sixteen when a friend of mine and I went to the Umpqua River and we fished for trout. We used to have lunch at the Steamboat Inn where some serious steelhead fishermen were staying. That was the beginning. I have been fly fishing in Belize, the Pacific shore of Mexico, and the Sea of Cortez. I have had multiple trips to Christmas Island with some amazing blue water adventures there. A journey or two to New Zealand trout fishing in most of the west and. I have fished the Steelhead waters of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Canada.
